Gulf Coast

The Gulf Coast from western Florida to Texas offers the same challenges and rewards as its Atlantic counterpart, though whiter sands and bluer water make it slightly more photogenic.  The east-west orientation of the middle regions can provide more unusual light than the constant sunrise-facing Atlantic.  Florida in particular boasts an impressive state park system, with units along inland lakes and rivers as well as at popular beaches.
